Pakistani Young Global Leaders (YGLs) of the World Economic Forum (WEF) present the Development Innovation Labs.
The Inaugural Development Innovation Lab shall feature two educational innovators who have used very different kinds of technologies to address access and quality challenges in Education.
The Knowledge Platform is a Singapore-based e-learning company with offices in Pakistan and deployments across East Asia (including China) that has recently ventured in K-12 education. They have also recently launched the second iteration of Learn.Smart.Pakistan – the country’s first Digital Learning Challenge.
The Communicators uses Interative Radio Instruction (IRI) to reach out to in-school and out-of-school kids to engage them in learning. The Communicators Model ‘Broadclass’ is in the process of being scaled across rural and urban Islamabad. These innovators will talk about the impact and scalability of their respective models.
A Panel of Experts comprising Mosharraf Zaidi (Campaign Director, Alif Ailaan), Syed Owais Zaidi (Head of Platforms and Partners, Zong), and Mr. Talhah Munir Khan (Knowledge Platform) shall discuss policy and scalability challenges. Dr. Athar Osama of Pakistan Innovation Foundation will moderate the panel.

Several times a year, Development Innovation Labs shall bring together some of the region’s leading development innovators to showcase their work before diverse audience of innovator and thinkers, business, policy, civil society leaders, social and development activists, decision-makers and influencers to help advance the conversation around advancing scalability and sustainability through multi-stakeholder action.
It shall draw upon the unique power of the local Young Global Leaders and Global Shapers community and the expertise of its global network to advance development innovation in the areas of:
